Office Editing for Docs, Sheets & Slides

It is a Google product to view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.View and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files -- without needing Office installed on your computer.

Executive Summary

Once the extension is installed, Office files that you drag into Chrome, open in Gmail, Google Drive, and more, will be opened in Docs, Sheets, and Slides for viewing and editing.

You can save each file back to its original Office format, or convert it to Docs, Sheets, or Slides to unlock more features, like inviting others to edit with you, commenting, chat, and more.

Please note that Office files cannot be edited in the classic version of Drive. The new Google Drive is gradually rolling out to all users via the Settings menu. Please note: This extension is already installed on Chrome OS by default.

Use Google analytics and crash report to drive the design decisions.
Understand MS office and ECMA standards for domain knowledge.

Process

New features, Usage analytics and Crash Reports
Based on the data gathered from the usage analytics and crash reports we use to prioritize the optimization to the design and performance tuning to the code of the application. I was the part of UX team to drive the design decisions.

Implementation, integration and deployment
On implementation of the design changes suggested in the above process, we use to have iterative rounds of design and code improvements via git and gerrit.

Testing
Our strategy for coding includes, developer testing, unit testing (jasmin) and automated interactive testing (node monkey).
